5000 series velvet drive trans leak

Anyone replaced the rear main seals on the 5000 series velvet drive transmissions found in the 3000 pursuit expresses? I am hoping to do this repair while the transmissions are still in the boat due to the major work to pull them. Any advice would be great!!!

Pursuit Customer Service

I have had good experience with the records they keep on my 2000 boat. They have been able to tell me almost all parts used on the boat originally and been very responsive

Props

Get ahold of ken with prop gods. He will get you set up. You will need to know gear ratio , wot rpm and speed as well as cruise rpm and speed weight of boat go rating of motor and current prop data

Cable routing into helm

Through on the stbd side where cables go through. Then take the back of the aft dinette seat down and you will have access to the tubes that come through the bottom of the helm.

New 3000 Express owner

I have the same boat. Currently have 19x21 3 blades. I have considered 4 blades as I often need a little to a lot of tab for best speed to get the nose over. I had some vibration when I got mine. Engine alignment was the major culprit but when I replaced transmissions with zf hurths I had to shorten...
