PostMon Jan 11, 2021 7:26 pm Another 3000 Express Engine Vent Repair Dan I bought a can of the foam. It is like spray foam. Gotta look up the brand for you. My email is bobbruce@optonline.net. we pulled the vents when the boat came out, then dug everything out. Kept it covered til I shrink wrapped the boat. Gonna let it dry till spring.

PostWed Jan 13, 2021 5:46 am Another 3000 Express Engine Vent Repair I would also get the thru hulls pulled out as soon as you can, You may find moisture around them. They are easier to destroy from the outside and just push the remains through to the inside. A pair of channel lock pliers can break the flanges off pretty easy.

PostWed Jan 13, 2021 7:40 pm 3000 Express Projects 4488 Correct. After filling the backside, I only had to use a small amount of caulk to stick them to the boat. I ran a continuous bead all the way around vs the 2 blobs the factory used originally. Did you block off and just fill around the edges or did you also fill down the center on the back sid...

PostTue Oct 13, 2020 2:55 pm Hardtop courtesy light I brought it from westmarine several years ago, I pulled out the original and its electronics, and inserted the led in its place. You may want to start working all the screws with WD40 and gently tapping them, some of them may strip the heads, refit them with some marine grease on the threads. If yo...

PostTue Jan 12, 2021 10:42 pm 3000 Express Projects 4068 Also back filled my engine vents with epoxy. I burned a half caulk gun size tube of 4200 and only made it half way around one, then ran out. Had to clean all of it off. Should use a lot less when I replenish my boat glue supply. So if I understand correctly you used epoxy to fill the half roun...

In the center of the grill on the inside I layered up glass at either end to thicken up the area where the bolts where to be fitted and drilled a small hole from the outside. (Red X’s in pic of grill’s removed) Then countersunk the hole’s on the outside so ... |

PostSun Feb 07, 2021 10:55 pm Delete coolant lines to hot water tank??? Hello Dan, I did remove mine years ago out of concern of blowing a coolant line. We really don't have the need for hot water so out it went. At first I just coupled the hose together to make a loop until I had the time to plug the fittings with pipe plugs. I know we have different engines but a fail...

PostMon Mar 08, 2021 5:47 am Windlass wiring 3000 Express Looks non-factory / fire hazard. I have a maxwell breaker installed in the wood panel in the cabin between the steps and the dinette seat. I believe there is power run directly from the house battery to the breaker, then off to the anchor locker where the relay is. Mine is all large cable (maybe 4 a...

PostMon Mar 08, 2021 8:22 pm Windlass wiring 3000 Express It's the red knob down low in this picture. Looking through my manuals, the Maxwell Freedom 800 model calls for 135A breaker (pretty sure that is what I have). Not sure what windlass is on your boat.

PostThu Mar 11, 2021 7:58 pm Windlass wiring 3000 Express does the factory windlass have a breaker or fuse anywhere else other than the one at the helm? Should be a breaker on the top left corner of the tabs system under the steps down below. It is wired to a cable that goes into the engine room around and back through the bulk head to the area behind the...

PostSat Feb 26, 2022 8:30 pm 3000 Express Projects Another project I'm working on too: Swap to the Johnson crank driven pumps. I have a Hardin SS unit on my port engine, stock mercruiser on starboard. They are such a pain to change impellers. Plus I don't care for the air drain stuff on the stock pump.
