The hull below the water line is solid glass so you should be able to install a shoot through hull style transducer. I would go with a thru-hull if your installing a fish finder and not a simple depth finder.
The ideal location would be aft near the center line. Be sure that you look forward of the mounting location for any other installed thru-hulls, or other objects. They can create turbulence/bubbles that would effect the performance of the transducer. You want nice, clean water flow over the transducer.
