New to me 2200

Hello everyone!

Just picked up my 1986 2200 6 weeks ago. I've been out at least 5 times already and love the boat!
It has a 1998 175 evinrude that runs great but sucks a lot of gas. I think it might be a little under powered so we are looking at re-powering. Glad I found this site I do have a few question.

Very nice, clean looking vessel. Good luck with her. Just remember to watch the weight of the new 4 strokes. The older boats were not designed with them in mind since they did not exist at the time.

Thanks. I like it a lot.

I was actually looking at the new etec motors. Not sure if it makes a difference? the guy who owned it before me had the transom completely redone with seacast. And he said he reinforced the inside where the hull and transom meet. I hope it won't be a problem. I've seen the same boat with a 225 2stroke. Do the new 4 strokes weight that much more?
