Hello all,

As the title suggests, I've got an '02 2870CC w/ '05 200 HPDI's (~500 hrs). I bought it used in '14, and initially used the boat in Florida, but now its on a lift in Matagorda, TX since the Air Force stationed me in San Antonio.

As a starting point for my experience with the boat, I've replaced the original Furuno electronics myself with a GP1870F and an NSS9 Evo2, performed basic MX on the engines (spark plugs, thermostats, med press. fuel lines, etc...), replaced bilge pumps, and I'm currently in the process of replacing the T-Top fabric, installing a 4G radar w/ pedestal, and a new VHF antenna. I've also replaced and modified the original Magic Tilt 13,000# trailer bunks to make the boat self-center and ensure that there is no load on the strakes, head intake or outlet. I had Scorpion Marine in Port Canaveral, FL replace all of my waterline thru-hulls with Marelon or SS last year, and to my knowledge the fuel tanks are not yet leaking.

I'm really looking forward to learning from everyone here, and hopefully I can help if someone's doing a project I've already seen.

Matt

Hello Matt, good luck with the boat! It sounds like you have been busy with some work on her, always fun. I just did my electronics last spring. I went with a Quantum radar and a new C127 and new Ray 60 vhf. I replaced gear from 1999, holy cow what a difference. Technology marches on! Welcome to the club! Enjoy San Antonio, my brother spent some time there years ago. I was a Coastie so I only visited, nice place.
