Congrats and welcome to the club! Well including us, there are at least 3 of us with 3000s! We have relatives that live by Sacketts Harbor. We hope to make the trip next summer to get up on the lake for a time!

You know, there's a lot to be said about being in fresh water.

Agreed... especially the Great Lakes where you can truly escape offshore with some nice game fish and not have the hassles of saltwater cleanup every time you come back to shore. I have family in Charleston, SC and with every time they come back home, they are reminded of how easy it is on Freshwater. That first King was about 18lbs, hit a free slider on a downrigger at 30', by the time I got to the rod the fish was clearing water 20' behind the boat and then screaming 100 yards of line off to the port side on the surface like a shark. Much smaller scale than massive ocean bites, but exciting none the less.

We will be driving up to Sacketts Harbor area this summer, but I hope to take the boat up there next summer. I would like to get up to Clayton with it.
