Good afternoon everyone,
We put a deposit on a 2006 3370 w/t250 Yamahas/144 hours. We have our fingers crossed and have the survey set up for November 6th. The surveyor we hired suggested we get a certified Yamaha tech to go over the engines. We'd love to, but can't find one. My wife called the suggested engine techs and went through the pertinent listings on the internet. Any suggestions? The boat in question is located near Toms River, NJ. We are really excited for this boat. Any other useful information about this boat (good and bad) is welcome. Thank you.

That is a nice boat, good luck with it. There were some Yamaha problems (internal exhaust) up to 2006, 225 hp and maybe some 250s but I am not sure. You can look it up on the net. Also you could probably take the engine s/n and ask a Yamaha dealer if they are included in that problem. 144 hours is nothing for those engines. Ask to see service records to make sure oil was changed along with raw water pumps and lower unit oil. Check to see that thermostats have been maintained. I was looking into a yam powered boat not long ago and was told that if the thermostat seal leaks it goes into the crankcase.
