Hello folks. First post and glad I was able to join this forum.
Just bought my second boat, a new to me 1995 2460 Denali. Boat is equipt wt a windlass anchor system. I got it set up other day however I feel anchor it has currently isn't correct type. I figured wt windlass set up I could retract anchor and rode up to bow and would set itself securely. Am i mistaken? Do I need to set it by hand into bow anchor holder? One boat had now is a fortress FX type. Seems it could scratch the stainless piece that wraps around bow tip area regardless of how I secure it. Thanks folks. Look forward to your collective knowledge and wisdom.

Pursuit boats come with a Delta Anchor by Lewmar. You can get them at any good marine supply store in galvanized or stainless. They are made to fit right into the bow pulpit. I have a 22b on my 30 Pursuit, you may be able to go to a 10 or 16 pounder but they have size charts also. I would add a barrel swivel to the chain at the anchor.
Crongrats on the boat, they are made well!
