Autopilot pump location

Postby Drag Up » Thu Jun 14, 2018 4:57 pm

Hello everyone!

This is my first post here and I’m hopeful that someone will have an answer for me. My boat is a 1995 3000 Offshore with an older Simrad autopilot (AP16). All still work great, I just need to bleed the pump since I recently had a steering failure and replaced the hydraulic cylinder.

My issue: I can’t find the pump! I can see where the hydraulic lines from the helm come down into engine bay and then appear to go behind the forward (front of engines) bulkhead and come back out and run aft. I assume the pump is behind the bulkhead, but how does one access this area?

Any help would be appreciated!
