Anchors for Denali

Mark, I have it figured out. I studied the assembly today and the only thing I can come up with is that the roller is in the wrong place. The metal assembly has a rounded bottom to it and the location of the roller is at the top end of the assembly. It doesn't make any sense for it to be there with so much metal below it. I took everything apart and when the roller is placed at the bottom of the assembly so that the radius of the roller matches the radius of the bottom of the assembly, the 16 pound Lewmar Delta anchor is able to travel up into the roller assembly and lie perfectly flat on the bow pulpit. I'm having a metal smith drill new holes for the roller and straighten the slightly bent assembly. All will be ready for me to put the boat into the slip for the season this weekend. My guess is that your setup has the roller in the proper location.

Mark, I think I have it figured out. I studied the assembly today and I believe the roller is in the wrong place. The assembly has a rounded bottom to it and the roller location is at the top end of the assembly. It does not make sense for it to be there with so much metal below it. I took everything apart and when the roller is located at the bottom of the assembly where the roller radius matches the metal assembly radius the 16 lb Lewmar Delta anchor rolls up into the assembly and lies perfectly flat on the bow pulpit. I'm having a metal smith drill new holes for the roller and straighten the slightly bent assembly. My guess is that your set up has the roller in the proper location. Thanks for your diligence in trying to assist me.

Mark, I have it figured out. Have been trying to post the solution but maybe my post is too long. Basically, the roller is in the wrong place. When the roller is in the correct location, all works as it should.

Mark, figured it out. I believe the holes for the roller are in the wrong place. I studied the assembly yesterday and the holes for the roller are located at the top end of the metal assembly. It doesn't make sense for that much metal to be below the holes for the roller. I disassembled everything and placed the roller at the bottom end of the assembly where the roller radius matches the radius at the bottom of the metal assembly. The Lewmar Delta 16 lb anchor rolls up into the assembly and lies perfectly flat on the bow pulpit when the roller is in that location. I'm having a metal smith drill new holes in the metal assembly and straighten the slightly bent metal in order for the roller to be located properly. My guess is that your set up has the roller properly located. Thanks for your diligence in trying to assist me. Will let you know how it all turns out.

Figured it out. Roller is in the wrong place. It's near the top of the assembly. When placed at the bottom the radius of the roller matches the bottom radius of the assembly perfectly and the anchor has room to roll up into the pulpit and lie flat. Moved the roller holes and its all set.
