Just sold my 35 year old Pursuit . My new one has winless . Not familiar on how it works. I opened the hatch, found remote and pushed button for down . Zippo . My new boat is a 2019 23.8 center console. Is there some switch to turn on to get power to it somewhere I haven’t found? Thanks, Pat

Pmagogo, I just bought a 2014 DC 265 and am in the same situation. There is a rocker switch that activates the power to the windlass, but I don't know if you need to activate the rock switch to make the the remote work...the connection makes me think you might not need alternate power, but I don't know either,.,lets hope someone else responds...

Mine has a circuit breaker dedicated to the windlass.
