2014 Pursuit C260 transom transducer

Postby tikiguardian » Sun Jun 11, 2023 2:39 pm

Does anyone here have direct experience with how well a Garmin GT51M-TM transducer reads bottom at speed on this hull? The factory installed B164 thru hull loses bottom over 17-22 mph depending on water conditions and the boat cruises at 30-36 mph.

While the GT51M -TM would add fishing features at low speed, I am first and foremost looking to gain a depth reading at higher speeds. I would appreciate any feedback on this as I don't want to install one only to find out later that it performs similarly at speed to my existing transducer.

Separately, but related, has anyone with a C260 replaced their B164 and had better results at speed? I ask because the transducer is 9 years old and I suppose its possible that its wearing out versus dealing with an air layer at speed.
