2460 denali fishability?

Postby brandon » Wed Jul 25, 2012 5:59 pm

Hi, I'm looking at buying a 1999 2460 denali. The stern of the boat concerns me. I fish on lake erie, and I'm wondering how much the dog house from the engine gets in the way, especially while netting fish behind the boat. Also it looks like it might be difficult to mount a kicker motor? How is the volvo penta 5.7 GSI? Are there any known problems? any input will be greatly appreciated, thank you!

2460 denali fishability?

Postby Calexi » Sun Jul 29, 2012 10:30 am

I have salmon fished on the the 2460 Denali quite a bit on lake Michigan. The boat is a great boat for the size. Large enough to handle big water on the Lake and still trailerable. I have netted a lot fish on the Denali and quite honestly the boat fishes just as nice as the 2470 CC, which I have previously fished quite a bit. I primarily fish Lake Michigan, but walleye fish Lake Erie a few times a year. I think this would be a solid walleye boat for Lake Erie. My recommendation is run one rigger on both port and starboard and run a triple stack on each side as well. You will have plenty of room to net fish. You will need to occassionally lift the downrigger when netting fish. A great boat though.
