Using DC panel while charging batteries on my 2001 3070 offshore

Hi all, I have a pretty basic electrical question, but dont want to screw up anything on my 3070.
We just installed 30AMP shore power on our dock so we can use the onboard battery charger. All seems to be working great. Can anyone tell me if it is okay to turn on my TABS unit and DC panel to access helm, chart plotter, etc. while I am using the shore power to charge my batteries? Please advise. Thanks FishMagnet

I do it all the time I am not sure about running the engines though. I have done that as well. If I am working on the boat I will plug it up so I don't wear the batteries down while using the 12v systems.

Thanks Coastal. Seemed like you should be able to.

You should be able to while running the engine as well. There was most likely a VSR or something similar installed that would sense the alt current from the engines and use that for charging and not the shore power if plugged in.
