3000 Offshore - Props

Does anyone have a 3000 Offshore with 20" diameter Props? I'm looking to go from 19" to 20" and wondering if the clearance will allow the increase in size.

If you can keep about 2 inches clearance you will be fine. I have worked on boats with 1.5 inches and there was no problem. What do you have now between the blade tip and the hull? You are only talking about a half inch increase per radius.

I have 19" Blades. The boat is comming out of the water soon. I wiil measure the clearence and report. I was told 15% clearance is optimal with 10% being ok.

21x22.5 3 blades. I believe the ideal clearance is not the same with tunnels/pockets. Clearance is to eliminate the hull flexing as the blades swing by and create a area of low pressure against a standard hull, creates a vibration as the hull flexes. With tunnels you have the strength of the arch and it does not flex like a standard v-bottom boat would.

I would however like to test some different props. Pursuit's performance reports with the 330 cummins uses 19x26 #7 cup props and cruises the same but is 5 kts faster on the top. An additional 5 kts would be smoking fast.
