Pursuit Fuel Fumes

Postby Biff4028 » Sun Aug 27, 2017 5:29 pm

Can anyone advise what the latest Pursuit factory response is to the fume in cabin issue. I just took delivery of this boat (a 2009). It appears the previous owners did not have any of the repairs (vents/fans etc). We spent the first 2 nights in the boat and I thought we would detonate, let along how awful it is to smell fumes all night. Its bad.

How does Pursuit handle this when I am not the original owner and has anyone dealt with this issue lately, as I see this thread is a few years old. I do not know how the previous owners were able to tolerate it.

Pursuit Fuel Fumes

Postby Maddog88 » Sun Jul 28, 2024 8:50 pm

I am new at this , but I have a 2870 WA and we have a very faint fuel smell also. I was advised to change out the fuel sending unit gaskets as a first order. I did that and we still have it. The boat is a 2005 and there is no visible signs of fuel in the bilge or anywhere in the hull. Sometimes when changing out fuel components if any is spilled it can leave a residual smell. Most fuel lines have been changed by the previous owner. I have installed a blower and run it for 4-5 minutes before we start it and have had no problem. Have not done an overnight in it yet but plan on using the blower to eliminate possible overnight fumes. My next step is to check fuel/water separators to see if they might be leaking. puzzling at best
