2470WA windlass anchor

Postby Wojo910 » Sun Sep 08, 2019 10:01 pm

I just picked up a 2000 2470WA with twin Yam F150’s. I have been going through the boat over the last few days. I’ve only used it once on a sandbar with light wind and very little current. It has a plow anchor and it just didn’t want to set. Just curious as to what type of anchor other 2470 owners are using. My windlass line is in need of replacing, so I may try replace everything at once if anyon has a good anchor suggestion. Thanks in advance!

Pursuits all come with a Delta anchor, and some chain. Do you still have chain? The chart for your size boat say a 9 to 14 lb anchor is what you need, with chain.

Thanks for the reply. I still have the anchor, I was just wondering if anyone has determined if a different anchor works better. Thanks for the reply!

I have seen guys use a Danforth, which is a great anchor. But it does stick out past the pulpit and can get hung up around the docks and damage the pulpit if you're not careful pulling it up.
