faded gel coat

Postby arjnsp » Wed Oct 11, 2023 12:26 pm

I have a 2019 Pursuit that has Gulf Stream Blue gel coat. After 3 years of service, the color faded so much that we can't match it with new gel coat for a scratch repair. Pursuit is saying this is normal and that I need to have the whole boat sanded to return the color to its original. Has anyone else had this problem? Did sanding work for you? Thanks for any help.

Wet sanding is common and dark blue hills are the hardest to keep up on if you let them go without wax. Doesn’t seem like it is out of the question
