Headliner Water leak

Picked up a 2460 Denali that had some stains in the forward cabin headliner - above where you step into the cabin. Had it shampooed & looking great. Stains have re-appeared & can't figure out where the leak is. Only thing I can think of is wiper motor, windshield trim, canvas twist snaps???

Many of us had the same problems on our 30 express. Take off the rubber molding at the base of the windshield and even the sides and you should see the screws that secure the frame to the hull. Take them out one at a time and shoot some silicone in the hole and put the screw back in. Seems to be the ticket.

Interesting - and it makes sense. After reading earlier notes about the window trim I found that my lower front trim was short by over an inch. Plenty of room for water. Tried ordering 18' of the trim from American Marine in Florida. Phone rang with no answer - sent an email and again no response. Is this the right company to order the necessary trim??

Mark - see you have a 41' UTB for your ID. I'm an old retired CG Officer (went from E8 to O1 & then started all over again) in the Boston area. Appreciate your input.

Another boater did get all new window trim from American Marine just a short time ago. Maybe they were closed the day you called? The trim is not waterproof however, you have to bed those screws down Jim.
Glad to meet another Coastie. I was an MK3 from 74-78. Stationed at GI and Eatons Neck on Long Island. Started out on the steel 40s and then 41s. Would love to buy a 41 and restore it but....

Heard from Mike Avery at American Marine, a division of Pompanette. They had phone problems the day I tried calling. Mike was very helpful and the new screw covers are on the way.

With that said - anyone know where I can get a few replacement plastic trays for the fishing gear locker. Have tried West Marine but nothing they have comes close.

No - I never went beyond thinking about it. I havent even put it in the water this season, since I've been so busy going between houses and working. I'm still thinking about it but not actiely pursuing it. If you know anyone interested send them my way.
