3000 Fuel tank replacement

Postby bobbruce » Mon Oct 28, 2024 7:11 pm

I will be changing all four 7 inch lengths of 5 inch diameter exhaust hoses. At that time I'll inspect mufflers. The thru hulls for the macerator and bilge pumps are located above the rigid portion of the exhaust outlet. So if I need to replace them I'll have to do like you have done and add an access panel. Yes my round deck plates will be resealed and or replaced as well as the o rings. Sorry bout the duplicate photos... I found a company in fla for the tanks. They're a little better priced than the oem manufacturer.

3000 Fuel tank replacement

Thanks for the pics Bob, were the tanks mounted on rubber strips that laid on the stringers? Is that where they corroded?

I didn't add an access panel to get to the thru hulls, I cut an access hole behind the rod holders on the gunnel (same rod holders you have)

It will probably be easier to reach up into the area while the tanks out and the exhaust removed
