Mounting a kicker bracket

Postby Shortline » Sat Sep 05, 2020 9:53 am

I am going to mount a kicker motor on my new-to-me 235 offshore. Being a total greenhorn to glass boats, I will have lots of questions about rigging, as I only want to drill holes once!!

In the attached pic, I marked the area I would like to anchor a bracket if it will support the weight/pounding. Is the area marked in red suitable? The motor is a Yamaha 9.9.

Try posting this on the hull truth web forum. You will probably get some actual response.

I would imagine more than strong enough. Just use a backing plate underneath it and you should be fine. I would imagine that reaching the water from up there will be more of a challenge though. May need to do it against the transom instead.
