Windlass wiring 3000 Express

So I found this the other day digging around behind the dinette seat. Thought a battery cable attached to a 10ga wire was odd...

So this cable is the one that runs to the front of the boat to the windlass. The cable that connects to the tabs system is abandoned under the helm. Just chilling exposed down there. And the breaker for the power to windlass is being powered somewhere from under the helm and is attached to the throttle cables!

Felt like one step forward 3 back today. I Palau to move the solenoid down behind the dinette so I can Hooke up the power cables to it like that they should be. Just curious if factory did this or some fly by night guy that owned it before me.

Looks non-factory / fire hazard.

I have a maxwell breaker installed in the wood panel in the cabin between the steps and the dinette seat. I believe there is power run directly from the house battery to the breaker, then off to the anchor locker where the relay is. Mine is all large cable (maybe 4 awg).

According to the original schematic, the windlass should be fed from the TABS system where there is already a 70a breaker.

Yup and that cable is just hanging out down behind the dinette that comes from the tabs system. I will be relocating the breaker and solenoid to behind the dinette seat. You have a picture of where your 35amp breaker is mounted for it? I gotta decide how I am mounting it. Exposed or on the bulkhead behind the dinette seat.

It's the red knob down low in this picture.

Looking through my manuals, the Maxwell Freedom 800 model calls for 135A breaker (pretty sure that is what I have). Not sure what windlass is on your boat.

Didn’t know if they all came with windlass or if they were just prewired from one. I just gotta decide where and how I am putting the breaker for the windlass and then we are gonna be good with relocation. I may just use the breaker in the tabs system

Should be a breaker on the top left corner of the tabs system under the steps down below. It is wired to a cable that goes into the engine room around and back through the bulk head to the area behind the dinette. The breaker on the helm is a 5amp breaker for the switch side of the solenoid.
