2005 2870 transom shower (whale product)

Postby Tclaude » Sun Feb 05, 2012 11:09 am

My 2005 only has cold water at the transom so getting hot water back there was a high priority project to complete to prevent a mutiny after diving on a cold day.

I chose the Whale product which has "in the handle mixing". What I did not realize when buying it was that all the fittings are metric. All the water fittings on my Pursuit are 1/2 inch IOD SAE.

I removed the single hose shower head from the transom sink, installed the new Whale head with holder in the same location. I had to increase the hole to 3.5 inches to accommidate the whale 45 degree holder. (used a hole saw)

Don't even fool around with the 15mm hose. I installed a 1/2 inch IOD Tee where the hot water goes into bulkhead heading for the head sink and ran 1/2 inch tube all the way back to the transom.

Underneath the transom sink I installed a 1/2 to 15mm adapter to tie into the whale manifold. This project really turned out sweet and the new Whale shower hose is about 2 foot longer than the Pursuit supplied hose so you can washdown by the transom door.
