That's funny...I know this is an old ad, but I didn't think there was a KAMD motor with 300hp. The KAMD300 was actually 285hp. Maybe I'm wrong.

For what it is worth, it could have been taken from the model number of the engine, but the add does not say what model it is. I looked up what I think is the most likely engine on boatdiesel.com, I found a KAMD300-EDC engine with 282 SAE HP, 286 Metric HP.
