1996 247 Sanitary tank removal

Postby TAILGATORS » Thu Oct 11, 2018 12:22 pm

I have a 1996 247 Center console with a head in the center console. Lived it’s entire life in keys until 3 years ago, when relocated to NH. Local marina promised it was winterized, said sanitary tanks don’t need to be drained and flushed, Me the Florida guy presses the “I believe button” and now have a very messy bilge.

So, I have a couple questions:
1. Does the tank actually come out of the head area without un-screwing the deck and lifting the center console off??

2. Has anyone ever removed the sanitary tank, if so how.

3. Is this tank available in replacement tanks, as it looks to be pretty cutom made to order, jammed next to and banded together with the fresh water tank.

I’m dreading this process, but the sewage in the bilge is now molding and rotting hoses and God knows doing what to my fuel tank.

Yes, No one now winterizes this boat but me.

Also the bilge was in “eat off of” condition prior to this fiasco, so I’m wanting to get it back to that condition.
Thanks in advance.
