Yamaha Multifunction display will not turn off

Postby goodtimesnc » Mon Jul 06, 2020 6:59 pm

Just bought a 2013 SC365i and noticed that even with the ignition key OFF the Yamaha Multifunction display will not turn off. There is no OFF buttone either physically or within the operating system. It did turn off ONCE when I turned the ignition key to OFF but never again since. Also the starboard engine doesn't register any DATA until I try to move the engines or start it, then all is well. I suspect a bad ignition connection or the ignition itself. During the trip down from Glaucester, MA to Soutport, NC the starboard engine lost voltage and died....it took turning off the auto pilot and starting the generator to get the charge back up to restart it (luckily cuz we hit 5 footers 5 mins later). We did run hard for 10+ hrs that day and I wonder if that particular episode was justrunning her too long. Any thoughts?

thanks! David

Greetings, just bought a 214 SC 365i and trying to learn as much as possible.

Did you find out why the display would not turn off, or why the starboard act funny?

Try a hard reset. Take battery terminals off for 30 mins. I was told to do same on my Edgewater to reset system (twin 300’s).
