BATTERY SWITCH OPERATION

Postby Paulmarr » Sat Mar 04, 2023 3:39 pm

I HAVE A 2001 2470 CC WITH TWIN SUZUKI 150'S. I AM QUESTIONING HOW MY BATTERY SWITCHES WORK. IF I PUT ONE SWITCH ON 1 OR 2 AND THE OTHER SWITCH ON OFF - I CAN RUN BOTH MOTORS. LIKEWISE - IF I PUT THE OTHER SWITCH ON 1 OR TWO AND THE FIRST ONE ON OFF - I CAN RUN BOTH MOTORS. IS THIS THE CORRECT FUNCTION? I THOUGH THAT EACH SWITCH WAS DEDICATED TO A MOTOR - ONE TO PORT AND ONE TO STARBOARD, AND SELECTING 1 OR 2 ON EACH SWITCH DETERMINED WHICH BATTERY WAS SUPPLING THAT MOTOR. IN OTHER WORDS - IF YOU HAD ONE SWITCH ON 1 AND THE OTHER OFF - YOU COULD ONLY START ONE MOTOR - FROM BATTERY 1. HOPEFULLY YOU CAN ENLIGHTEN ME. WITH MY HOOK UP I AM CONCERNED THAT IF I RUN WITH ONE SWITCH ON 1 AND THE OTHER ON 2 I AM FEEDING BOTH MOTORS FROM BOTH BATTERIES IN PARALLEL AND CAN DO DAMAGE - SAME AS RUNNING THEM ON ALL. MY INTERPRETATION FROM THE MANUAL IS THAT THEY SHOULD NOT WORK THIS WAY. i AM WONDERING IF MY SWITCHES ARE BAD.
