We are getting ready to re-power our 2004 3370 ( it has Yamaha 300 HPDI's one has a blown cylinder)
Has anyone ever re-powered with 250's (we're looking at Evinrudes)
If so any info. on fuel burn, speed, and performance in rougher conditions would be appreciated. :help:

I have not heard anything good about Evinrudes. I have delivered plenty of 3370s with twin 250 Yamaha 4 strokes and they performed great. They run like sewing machines, quiet and strong.

E-tec are a bit expensive but are strong engines. A friend just installed them on his boat. They run strong and are actually surprisingly quiet. If your looking for the cheapest outboards, look at Suzuki. The problem is at the end all you have is a Suzuki.

I am an inboard diesel guy for the most part. I have friends that run marine repair shops that handle Mercs and yamahas. Not one of them likes the E Tecs. One says he is very impressed with them when they work. If I was getting an outboard I think I would go with Yamaha. I have delivered many new Pursuits with them and like the way they run and they have a great record.

I have a 2006 3370 with twin 250HP Yamaha's four strokes on it. She runs great! These engines are quite and just keep running. I am on Cape Cod and we have our share of snotty seas, but they don't bother this boat. Running in a head sea at 25 knots we use about 22 gal/hr. That is with full water tanks and three quarter full fuel tanks.

Looks like Yamaha is the way to go.
