Hi Capt Mark,

thanks for reply. Glad to meet a fellow 3000 Offshore owner. I keep boat on South Fork Long Island. Mainly do pleasure/fishing runs to Montauk, Block Island and the Cape.

I'm looking at new props to get better speed & fuel efficiency from boat. Would be curious to hear what engines, RPMs, propeller size, and boat speeds you're getting?

Have pair of YanMar 6LP 300 horsepower diesels. Currently have 19" dia. x 20" pitch, 4 blade, cupped props. Boat does 27 knots max. with engines turning 3,950 RPM at WOT. Per my prop guy and tech specs, boat should be getting at least 30 knots max on this setup.

Am thinking of moving to new props of 19" dia. x 22" pitch. But don

hey Wes,
We are still running I guess what you would call standard equipment, props are 19 x 20 3 blades and #7 cup with the Volvo's KAMD 42'S at 3000 RPM we run at 28-29 knots all depending on the seas and load, we ran to Block 3 years ago and with a following sea and tide we avg 32.

Been talking with a few knowledgable guys and my mechanic about playing with my props to see if we get a few more knots out of her.

Let me know how you made out with your props, and how do you like the Yanmars? looks like they truly turn higher RPM's

I have a 3000 with KamD44's & 19 x 21 x 3 props. Am offered 4 blade props - 20 x 20. Anyone have any comments on these?
Am not looking for top speed - more a bit better on the plane & poss +2 knots @ trolling before the super chargers cut in when trolling I would be fine>

Wow let me know how the 4 blades work out I would live to do the same, sometimes my supercharger kills my fuel economy

Looking at performance numbers for the offshores, went on a KAMD 44 powered offshore and we were running 23-24 mph at 3600 rpm in a lake. This seems incredible slow, especially is captain mark sees 28-29 kts with 60 less HP??? What are others real world numbers. Boat had 2 guys, with 1/2 fuel. It would spin up to rated 3950, rpm's.

I am located in Michigan and I own a 2000 3000 offshore with 7.4 litre engines. Boat travels well at 3200 RPM, at about 24 knots. We travel and fish with the boat a fair amount. I love this boat. The quality of a Tiara, but the features of a great fishing boat. I love the center helm. The boat is very user friendly when I am on it alone fishing, and the boat has plenty of room when the our family is traveling.
