I was happy to see that 165 viewers have taken a look but no responses.Any leads would help.I know there are a few out of my area but I would be hard pressed to make a bid on a boat with just internet photos and really want to check the model first since I have only seem these from a ways off.No Pursuit at the Atlantic city Boat show or DC boat show this year and out local dealer has 1 boat on the lot.

Mike they (Pursuit) have not been friendly with dealers lately, they pulled out of one locally here thats been dealing with them for over 10years, did a quick look on Yacht World and you are right on the availability locally, hot model I guess. We will keep our ears open up here and talk with the broker that used to have them

Mike,

I'm not going to tell you how to run your life, but if you really know what you want, and it's a 2860 Denali, you may need to broaden your search. I say this because I, like you, wanted this exact model, and I live in Maine. Don't think I need to tell you how far I am from just about everything!

Anyway, I just bought a '99 last month, all the way in Texas! I preferred a 2001/2002 era, but this '99 has only 129 hours, and it was rack stored indoors, on a fresh water lake, so was a super clean find. BUT - my other fav was a 2001 that is now in Florida, but was actually a N'East boat most it's life, hailing from Boston area. It has about 325 hours, and has the power you want. I would seriously consider a cheap flight to Florida if I were you, the boat can be bought pretty right, I think - fly in to look, and make a deal before driving down to pull it home on a new trailer.

Capt Mark,I think the folks in NJ I talked to last year were Comstock and they were at the AC show but no longer a Pursuit dealer.Nice folks.Sonic,I saw the boat in Fla on line but I am not sure I have the time to look at it,have a survey, and ship it back.In the photos if I remember it was an older repowered boat with 4 strokes that looked huge on the stern.I wonder if the later Pursuits designed for 4 strokes have added more boyancy to the sterns to support the weight (grady did that with their 272 a similar boat that became the 282 with 4 strokes).Sonic,I saw the Texas boat online and it looked great.Could I ask you how long is the v berth and does it have a small rear berth.I have never been on one of these and need it to sleep weekends (I'm tall). Thanks for the quick replies.

Mike

Strongs ( Long Island Pursuit dealer has 2860 with twins for $ 35 K and Comstock has 2870 with Four strokes for $ 70 K- I saw this one clean as whistle.
Last year there was 2860 in MD selling for a long time for $ 40 K with 8.1 Volvo. Finally it sold for low $ 30 K

I should have bought the Pursuit in Annapolis.Great price and good boat.I prefer an inboard since my last boat had a mercruiser and I know the repairs.Hey I missed the Annapolis boat since I wanted to sell my Crownline first. My mechanic asked me to avoid aging 2 strokes and I believe him since I had problems with them on my S2 7.9 sailboat.I may rethink the newer 2 stroke designs. Also thinking sea ray amberjack 27 since there are a bunch more on the market but prefer Pursuit quality.I'll look at the NY boat. The comstock boat in NJ looks great but is a little out of my budget.

Mike,

You must be seeing different one, the Florida boat I referenced was with Boston Yacht Sales, and was inboard v-6's.

The 2860 does have rear berth, but I'd say it's only for kids. Front berth is fine for (2), but over 6' tall will be legs bent a bit.

Sonic,This may be the end of my Pursuit hunt since I am 6'7'' and I need to comfortably sleep on the boat weekends with my wife and an aircon (I used a hatch unit on m Crown).Having never been on one I have only looked at the online pics and the bunk looked big.6 ft will not come close. The amberjack I looked at was 6'6'' on one side. Thanks for the advice. For others following this thread here is the Fl link
