Best downrigger mounting location on 2006 2570 OS

Postby Flyby » Thu Apr 18, 2019 11:43 am

I am installing electric Canon downrigger‘s to my 2006 Pursuit 2570 with twin Yamaha F150s.
Where is the best mounting location?
Should I consider using the rod holder gimbal mounts?
Thanks

Best downrigger mounting location on 2006 2570 OS

Hey Flyby,

Can you let me know where you ended up installing your downriggers and if/where you installed a power port to them? I have a 2011 265 DC and looking to do the same. My plan is to mount the DR to gimbal mounts and install a power port on the aft gunwhales. My old boat, 97 Shamrock, I installed the same application and worked well.

Another question, where can i find the pre-installed cabling in the boat. The owners manual says there's cable on both SB and Port aft gunwhales but when i looked for them last weekend, i could not locate them.

Let me know, thanks!
