2350 and Volvo Outdrive repairs
Exhaust flange is corroded to heck and broken. Suspension fork is corroded almost in half around the raw water connection. Looks like the boat is stuck on the trailer for now until I find a replacement drive or the parts needed.
EDIT: Don't know why they're sideways...

In the meantime I'm going to slowly pull this one apart and reseal the upper and lower units. Rehab it and this winter assemble a fully rehabbed drive out of the two.
Step 1: drain the oil. Very slighly milky in the bottom must mostly just real dark. Wonder when the last time this was changed. Annnd some metal shavings...hmmm not a stellar start

2350 and Volvo Outdrive repairs
Saturday:
pull out of the driveway at 3:45 AM to drive to Atlanta, purchase the reaplacement drive, get home by 3:00 PM
Sunday:
built a stand to assist with installation
swapped over the reverse latch assembly
off to enjoy the rest of the weekend with the GF
Tuesday night after work:
greased up the Ujoint and splines
attached new bellows on the boat side
walk back and forth to the trailer winch 5,000 times getting the back of the boat aligned with the stand exactly right height wise
shimmied the new drive on
knock on wood, I was able to get the drive shaft splines aligned and get it slid onto the shaft in about 20 minutes of jimmying it around
install the hinge pins
The locking screws for the hinge pins seem to have boogered up treads on the transom shield side. I'm going to have to go get a tap and re-cut the threads. It doesn't really hold anything, just keeps the hinge pin from backing out with vibrations.
Another tip, slide a prop back onto the prop shaft to make it easier to turn while trying to align with the drive shaft splines.
