new at this site, with a fuel leak problem...

Postby Big Boy » Wed Jun 15, 2011 7:09 pm

I'm a so so owner of a 2650 Pursuit Cuddy Cabin 1991 model. I bought my boat in 1998. I enjoy my boat very much, I have taken several trips to Bimini and the Tortugas.
I like the way my boat handles but I have had several problems with leak fuel tanks, I have replaced them and I have repaired them. Yet I have another leak in one of my fuel tank.
Please can anyone give me some emotional help.

Have you had the tanks and fuel system pressure tested? Pressure testing will help discover exact location of fuel leaks. Pursuit has had recalls for cracked antisiphon valves at tank. A hair line crack in the brass valve can be mistaken for a hose or loose tank fitting. Salt water in boat bilge with aluminum tanks can cause tank welds to eventually fail. Talk to Prusuit customer service about tank replacement. I heard a ball park price of 12k for Pursuit factory to cut open deck and replece tanks. Not cheap. By the way how does your boat handle heading into 3-4' every 5 seconds chop? What is the worst head sea you encountered on a island passage?
