I brought it from westmarine several years ago, I pulled out the original and its electronics, and inserted the led in its place.

You may want to start working all the screws with WD40 and gently tapping them, some of them may strip the heads, refit them with some marine grease on the threads.

If you want the red/white combo your going to have to run another wire to the helm.

Woodworker2001 I found a single Led strip that has red and white led lights, with this strip insert intothe tube that you are talking about on my 2001 3070 offshore and was able to wire it so that my console on(white)-off-on (red) toggle switch allows me to turn on either red or white illuminating my console. This was years ago and I will try to track down where i got the strip led light and let you know but it is still working great years later. I found my original correspondence it was in 2014 and purchased through Light the night boat lights (gerry Sherman) although I am not sure if they are still in business.
