I'm in the process of buying a late 1998 Pursuit 2870 walkaround with TWIN STRAIGHT INBOARDS.
Not only is this the smallest boat I've seen with twin straight crusaders, it's the only 2870WA I've been able to find with inboards. I suspect they didn't keep making them for a reason, and I'm hoping it's not because there was some kind of a major flaw in the design having to do with ride quality or reliability. Perhaps outboards was a much more logical option from a sales perspective.
My hope is that I'll be able to cruise around 25mph at 3000rpm. Fuel consumption is what it is. I'm not worried about that since I'm coming from a similar sized boat with large, old twin two stroke outboards.
If you have every had any experience with this model or can point me to such a person, I'd greatly appreciate it.
For info… the boat is in very clean condition. The engines are FWC Crusader 295hp with 650 original hours. The hull, running gear, cabin and Bimini are all in much cleaner condition for a boat of this age. The Bimini and enclosure look like it has never been used. Located in New England coastal waters.
I'm expecting to do the sea trial and survey in a week or two, so that should answer some of the questions.
Thanks for your thoughts!

The only thing that bothered me was windshield height. I like to stand when operating and had to look through the plastic over the top of the windshield frame or unzip the large center opening window. Maintenance is a little tight also. Overall it is a well built fun boat.
