BEP battery switch issue

Postby Tclaude » Wed Dec 28, 2011 12:24 pm

Just a note about the BEP battery switches Pursuit used around 2004-2005. BEP adimitted they had manufacturing issues that caused the main shaft to break off and the housing to crack. When this occured you would either lose power from that battery or have intermitting power.

Pursuit did not issue a recall and supply owners new battery switches. Having had all three of my BEP switches fail one after another I now carry an extra on board.

Since going with the newly manufactured BEP switches I have not had a failure. I hate to carry a lot of spare parts on board but if you have a battery switch fall apart on you while in the Bahamas, you aren't getting a replacement there.
