I live in the Boston area and I just bought this boat the day before Christmas. I have to clean the fuel tank, it is full of debris. I looking for suggestions. I am also looking forward to many interesting dicussions. I am new to the ocean, and also own a 1951 Chris Craft Sportsman I use on the lake, Mike

I bought a 1996 2460 with Mercruiser / Bravo III last winter. I really love the boat. Good luck with your fuel tank clean out. Let me know if I can be of help in any way.

Hi Mike and welcome. I had my tanks cleaned out 2 years ago. I have diesels and what they do is called polishing. They can get into the tank through the sending unit access and suck the gas out while rocking the boat back and forth. The gas is filtered and returned to the boat. They do this over and over until it is cleaned. Doesn't take all that long. Just look up fuel polishing and you should find something.
