Did the 3-hour break-in yesterday and followed with a quick prop-test. With a Mercury Mirage 14 3/4 x 21 prop she planes in the low 3K range and makes 6000 RPM at WOT. I have the motor on the very last hole right now and may move it up as the ventilation plate is low in the water.

Other improvements I have made since I got this boat a year ago is a heavy-duty custom bimini with curtains and a VHF. I added rod holders and a white all-round light to the bimini. I do a lot of night fishing and the original pole-light on the stern was killing my night vision.
I installed the "Multifunction" digital gauge instead of analog with the engine. I get digital read-outs of fuel burn, engine hours, oil pressure, etc. I have NMEA2000 network now so I plan to add a digital fuel tank sender. At some point I would like to add a NMEA2000 compatible chartplotter or display unit but it's hard to justify the expense when my old Garmin works so well.

I had to fabricate the light using a standard LED pole-light and bimini fittings because no one manufactures something like this. If people are interested I can post a how-to.

I haven't got around to moving the motor up a hole but it does need to come up a bit. If someone is going with the same motor/hull setup I would advise starting on the second hole. A little grinding needs to be done on the transom lip to make it fit but not a big job if you are prepared.

What was the HP of the Merc you replaced?
I have a 200 Yamaha on my CC 2150 and will be interested in how the 175 performs so please keep us updated on your experiences.

I can highly recommend the Suzuki 175 for this hull. Its got a lot of power for a 175 and I don't make many visits to the pump.

Terrific engine, very quiet, unreal torque. Replaced it from the original 175 Johnson Oceanrunner. MPG is almost 2X the previous motor and it sips oil. It runs with a Rebel 19P prop and I get 48 MPH WOT @5500 RPM's with just me on. Just installed a Fishmaster T-Top which looks great but I'll have to see how that effects performance. I did have to get the extra support bars due to the console to firm things up with the top but now it is very tight. For the price this T-top is a real bargain.
I've owned my Pursuit since 1996 and still love it as when new. It is built like a tank for a boat this size and is the softest riding hull of anything in this class by far. I've been doing boats for 55 years, am a Masters Captain, and wouldn't trade this boat for almost anything else I ride in five feet bigger.
