Pusuit OS315 Horn Issue

Postby Blue Dino » Sun Jul 29, 2012 12:19 pm

Anyone have an answer as to why the horn on my Pursuit OS 315 does not work? What I should check out? The boat is only 6 months old. I have heard the Pursuit boats have issues with the type of horn installed and where it is located?
Thanks

Pursuit and it's dealers are so good..and boat is only 6 months old...why are you not letting warranty take care of it..sure there is a logical answer..like distance...just curious....my OS 315 is a 2010 and the warranty issues have been covered beyond expectations

Pusuit OS315 Horn Issue

Issue is not the warranty....I believe there may be design flaw with where the horn is placed.... right below the pulpit about at anchor locker hight. Every wave breaks directly onto the outer membrane of the horn housing causing corrosion and horn failure. Is there a better horn for that position ,or eventually do I just place a new horn on top of the hardtop??? Does anyone else have experience with this problem? Thanks

I have a 1999 3000 Express and the horn is flush mounted on the cabin side. I have seen the location you have and thought that was a bad spot for just what you are saying. I think if mine goes I would put a horn up on the hardtop. A nice stainless unit would look pretty good and be louder and easier to maintain. If you are under warranty I would have then take care of it though before I changed horns.
