2006 3370 cabin leak

Postby capemaster » Wed Aug 15, 2012 4:27 pm

I have a 3370 with a very small water leak. It is coming out of the head liner on the port side just above the bow end of the galley cabinet. I have tried to seal around windshield and the horn. still get a drop or two after a heavy rain. Any ideas?

Many of us have had a similar problem with our 30 Express. We found that after taking out the rubber strip at the base of the windshield and side windows, taking out the screws that secure the windshield to the boat and bedding them down in silicone cured the leak. I hope this helps you out.

I pulled the headliner down and found the leak to be from the small port hatch. I replaced the rubber seal and tighten the dog but still have a small leak same spot bow/port corner of hatch. The morning dew is enough to make it leak slightly. Any other ideas?

Is it leaking where the hatch is mounted to the boat or the opening part of the hatch is leaking by not sealing against the lip? I had to loosen the hinges on my hatches to adjust the way the hatch closed against the seal/lip. There is a little bit of room in there for adjustment.

Check out the horn. Not the seal but the inside.

I also have a 2006 3370 which we bought new. We have had problems with leaks since we bought it, both hardtop hatches, the horn and the main hatch in the cabin. We were successful getting Pursuit to pick up most of the cost including fiber-glassing over the horn cut-out. In addition we had to remove and re-seal all the hatches on the boat. This is the first year we have had no leaks. Pursuit does most things well but certain fit and finish issues on the hull and bolt ons our Grady's were much better.

We are looking at upgrading to a new 345 but that is a lot of scratch and we decided to expand our search as 350-400K can buy a lot of fiberglass.

I replaced the horn with the new style, sealed it in and then covered it with white tape.
