Fuel gauge never reads less than 1/2 tank...it lies. Anyone ever change the fuel float? Any tips.

Rich I had an issue with mine, it would sometimes get hung up, 1 day I knew we were low but I went from 1/2 a tank to empty after hitting a swell. I took out my float and made sure that their wasnt anything blocking the float, never saw anything? let it dry and sprayed it down with CRC and re-installed it and it has been fine since

From time to time I wonder if my gauges are off a bit as my tank gauges sometimes read differently than my dash gauges . . could you detail the steps that you took, precautions that you took, and various tool and supplies that you used as I think that may solve at least part of my problem???

. . . Oops -- meant to quote CaptMark but either or both would be fine . . .

Thanks

Replaced one of mine a few months back...like yours it never went below half. Ordered it from the tank manufacturer...straight forward installation. Seems to work just fine. Tanks were made here in FL, so I called the manufacturer and they knew exactly what I needed.
