Hatch Removal 06 2670 Denali

Postby Wood Duck » Thu Dec 07, 2017 4:11 pm

Purchased the boat and had it surveyed. Moisture indicator detected higher level by the deck hatch. I am trying to remove it (Bomar) to dry in heated storage over winter, but having difficulty. Does anyone have suggestions? Also, is there anywhere that I could find the interior plastic cabin trim piece for the hatch?

Thanks

I am not sure what kind of problem you are having taking off the hatch, but besides being bolted or screwed down it is probably bedded down in 5200. When you are sure you have all the fasteners out take a putty knife and start tapping it in around under the flange of the frame to cut the seal. Go all they way around before trying to pry the hatch up as you could take some gel-coat with it if you don't cut the sealant. As for parts, I just got done with ordering some parts from Bomar. Contact number below. My boat is a 1999, and some parts are not available so you have to cross you fingers. Also, attaching a picture helped a lot when e mailing. But give Marty a call first, she was a great help.

Thanks for your reply. It is just taking a long time with the putty knife. At this rate I wont have it out till spring.
