I purchased a 2006 Denali 2670 during the fall of last year from a broker in Hyannis, MA. It had about 200 hours total time and seemed to be in good condition. I had it completely winterized here in Wisconsin where I live. New plugs, water pump impeller, etc. During the early part of the season the boat run good. However, about two weeks ago I was headed out fishing from Geneva on the Lake, Ohio. During two days I had: dual battery failures, overtemp on the starboard engine, trim pump/tilt failure on the starboard engine, and the biggest issue was on the helm switch panel. Out of no where the red indicator lights on six switches came on and none of the those switch functions would work. The strangest one is when the windshield wiper switch was pushed on the wipers did not work, but the manual bilge pump in the starboard, aft area of the boat started running. I really think this is related to corrosion since the boat spent its first six years i a saltwater environment. Has any other owners have similar problems?

Thanks for reading my scenerio.

Harold

You don't say what year the boat is. A friend owns a 2003 and has had problems with the switches and relays in the two panels left of the helm. I noticed they stopped using those on the 05 models.

Hi Mark - I have experienced what I consider a lot of nuisance problems, which I can't really fault Pursuit for and have finally solved. The switch problems turned out to be a faulty ground. Now all is well with this. I ended up having to have all four thermostats changed (two per engine). That was done by a Yamaha service center near Cleveland, Ohio. They also checked to see if any service bulletins needed to be accomplished. I was told those are a time change item every 300 hours. I attribute the problem to be associated with the salt water environment. I had the right engine shut down on me about 5 miles out into Lake Erie on a fishing trip. That turned out to be defunct batteries. So I changed both the left, right, and the one for the bow thruster. I removed the C-120 out of frustration with Raymarine tech people and installed a new C-140W. The 120 would not load any software updates or the Navionics chip. It also would not interface with the new SPX-10 autopilot I installed over this past winter. It is now integrated as it should be. I have owned a lot of boats, new and used, so I was somewhat prepared for these type of issues. I am lucky that I have an extensive background in aviation electronics installations and troubleshooting. Paying $100 per hour to a Yamaha dealer for repairs would be a lot of doe rae me. You indicated you are looking for an 05 or 06 2670. I might be interested in selling.
