Fighting chair in a 3000 Express

Postby CaboJohn » Sat Mar 16, 2013 11:28 pm

For marlin and big tuna the stand up routine is tough (not as young as I used to be). Sometimes I plop down in that little seat that faces aft, but with a straight back and no gimbal that is only a temporary relief. Has anyone ever seen or heard of installing a small fighting chair in an Express? It looks tight bur doable. Deck is not really made for it but I might be able to put a plate on top and bolt though to smaller plates under by reaching in the fuel tank access covers. The Off Shore 3000 (wider) is made for a chair but I have never even seen a picture of one in an Express. Comments or suggestions?
Thanks,
CaboJohn

Fighting chair in a 3000 Express

Postby Coastal Pursuit » Sun Mar 17, 2013 8:46 pm

My 3070 offshore cc had a 80lb fighting chair in it when I bought it. It can be done but it is tight with the footrest. Pursuit installs a backing plate on the underside for this support. I would check with them to see if they did on the express. I have some pics if you need to see what it looks like
