2005 2870 steering upgrade

Postby Tclaude » Sun Jun 16, 2013 10:15 am

My 2870 has twin 225 Yamaha 4 strokes and she is wearing the helm person out on long trips to the Bahama's or the Keys when the seas kick up. I have had the steering serviced and all was in spec. It really appears that the boat needs dual ram Seastar Steering instead of the single ram. I am running 17 pitch props which supply a lot more power than the stock 19 pitch. Has anyone gone through the upgrade to take the single ram system up to a dual ram system. Any ideas of price and performance improvements.

Thank you all
