hello everyone , I am looking to buy a 265dc comparing to a Grady 275 Freedom , I previously owned a 2460 Denali 1999 and ran it on Lake Erie .Nice boat but a little rough riding when it kicked up. The 265 I am going to keep in the naples area of Florida ,just looking for a little feed back from any owners in the SW Florida area on the ride .

thanks

Hmmm, I sold quite a few 2460s back in the day, but I have never run a 265DC. I have also never run a 275 Freedom. I ran a 300 GW Marlin in the Gulf in some pretty nasty chop and I did not like the way the Marlin 30 ran. Too much weight forward with deep forefoot caused that boat not to turn well and was downright scary in a following sea. The 28 Grady was much better.

As you likely know, The Gulf off of Naples is very much like Lake Erie. The gentle slope and shallow water creates a tight hard chop. Summer weather with South prevailing winds produces some flat calm days, but wind with any North or West in it kicks the Gulf up good. Winter is hit and miss depending on cold fronts and wind direction.

I would say that you are going to have to trial run each in the Gulf and make your decision. Good Luck and let us know which you choose.

Sincerely,
Chris Burkard

If you are still considering the 265 DC, we are selling ours. It is a 2011 in excellent condition. Freshwater use. Only 105 hours on the F350 V8 Yamaha engine. Options include Garmin 740S chart plotter/fish finder, LENCO Auto Glide trim tabs, Bimini top with enclosures, electric head upgrade, bow cover, cockpit cover, windlass anchor with remote, Clarion stereo with remote and Y.E.S Yamaha coverage through 3/28/16. If interested, give me a call 812-455-9400.

Thanks - Jeff

What did you decide? We are looking at a DC265 in the Naples area as well....

Thanks,
