I have a 1996 30 0ffshore with kamd 43 230 hp with hs1 gears 1.96to 1 repower with d4 260 with 2to 1 gears or any in put thanks

Personally I am a Cummins guy. I think a QSB 6.7 would be too much for your boat. You could look into Cummins remans from Cummins, maybe a 330hp 5.9 with a ZF gear on it. But for your application I would look into Yanmars. I have experience with 41s, and found them to need a lot of maintenance and parts were more expensive. Look at the weight of the Volvo vs the Yanmars also.
