OS255 deck drain mystery part

Postby WatchDogII » Thu Oct 04, 2018 8:51 am

I recently purchased an 07 OS255. Im getting familiar with all the parts of the boat but there is one item I cannot figure out. The starboard cooler and deck drains meet at a T fitting then go thru a large bulb type device before draining out thruhull. The bulb looks like a large priming bulb and is dullish yellow in color. The manual says nothing about it. Maybe just a flexible disconnect?

I figured it out. Its a one way flow valve. The odd thing is that there is only a valve on the starboard side. The live well and deck drain on the port side flow directly out of the scupper. Maybe they only had one left in the parts department.
