Pursuit 255 offshore

I am about to take delivery on a late model 255 OS and am psyched. Any particular pointers about this model. quirks, cleaning, etc. Thanks in advance and glad to b a pursuit owner.

I have a 2005 2570 Offshore with twin 150 Yamahas. As far as I know it is the same boat as the OS 255. I will be happy to answer any questiions you may have. Boat runs great. 35 MPH cruise 43-46 top end dependig on sea conditions and loading. The 150s are very fuel stingy. Now a plus at the fuel dock. The boat is not a rocket, but you find her plenty fast for most sea conditions. Boat planes quickly and stays up even at lower speeds. My props are 15 X17 stainless. Boat is designed to be run sitting. You may not have the best visability standing depending on you height. On cleaning -read your Pursuit and and Yamaha owners manual. I can give you specific products if you wish. Lots of boat wax on hull top side and rupp aluminum cleaner on bright work. do not use amonia based window cleaners on acrilic glass. Wash boat with soap and fresh swater after each use. Be sure to flush the engines too! Keep oil and filters changed. Winterize properly. Id possible keep the boat in inside dry storage. Do not paint bottom unless boat must be kept in salt water. Follow this and you Pursuit will look like a million for years to come.

Thanks amooreiii!. With economy etc, buying a boat wasnt at the top of my list but now that I had the "go ahead" with the Mrs, I wanted to make sure I made the right choice for a boat that I plan to keep and maintain for years to come. This forum is excellent and the "simple" tips you gave me will surely be used. The boat will be mainly used for crusing/fishing 50/50. Manatee and Sarasota waters in Florida and beleive this boat is plenty capable of my needs in this area. How often do you change the oil? 100 hrs or so? do you do it yourself?

I change engine, transmission drive oils, oil filters and racor fuel filters every six months or 100 hrs. Also lube steerng, motor tilt and prop shafts. Change engine water pump impellers every other season. Also note Yamahas have internal fuel filters and zinc anodes. I do some of my own maintenance, but I farm out most of it these days. Our rates for a certified Yamaha tec here in NC are $85 per hour. Also, Yamaha is very proud of there parts. One other item. Be sure to wax around the base of the wiper arm. There is a non stainless part (i.e. pantographic adaptor) at the base of the wiper arm which will rust stain you lovely new boat. Kudos for the wiper design go to the wiper manufacturer AMEquipment, Inc.

I delivered a 25 OS and have to say I thought it was a great boat. I have delivered many boats and for its size it has to be one of the best. The client loves it. Good luck and welcome to the club!

Raymarine E120 and Dome radar. When I am fishing and leave the Raymarine E120 on (with the radar, fish finder, GPS) and crank up the engine when time to go, I get a "no data " message on the Radar screen. Connections and everything fine, just when i restart the engine. Any help appreciated.

Can anyone advise on the type and size of the anodes at the trim tabs and transom of a 2014 Pursuit OS255? Also any tricks with installation? I have contacted Pursuit directly but it has been 3 days now and no response. The boat is in a wet mooring at a marina and I am bringing it up for engine servicing so want to purchase and replace the anodes at the same time. Can anyone help please.
