Trim tabs on gauge?

Postby GoinSouth » Sat Jul 23, 2011 12:29 pm

Would like to tie my trim tabs in to a gauge that will show their status. Don't know what make the tabs are, I am ASSUMING they are original. I have an older Quicksilver multigauge that shows oil tank level, fuel level, temp, and battery as well as "trim" but not sure if that is engine trim or tab trim. I am guessing that, given it is an engine related gauge, that is set up to show me the trim of the engine itself not tabs. Anyone help get me started? I hate to have a gauge with a function that isn't in use!

Trim tabs on gauge?

Postby MarkT » Sun Jul 24, 2011 10:00 pm

Pretty sure those are Bennett tabs, they are hydraulic. The gauge is for engine trim. You may be able to get a gauge from Bennett. I had one for my old Rampage. It was a light bar and had two bars, one for each tab. The more you deployed the tabs the more lights lit up in the bars. Check this link:

Thanks Mark. Will check the indicator out online. I got my new gauge in and working and it is indicating engine trim now which is good. Just want to see where my tabs are.....that is my next project!
